Established in 1969, the Korean Language Education Center at Seoul National University aims at teaching Korean language and culture to international students and overseas Koreans intending to learn Korean language as a foreign language or their second language so that they can have a good command of Korean and understand Korea correctly.
The Korean Language Education Center (KLEC) integrates all language skills and emphasizes the development of practical language abilities through a rich assortment of learning-engaged activities. The KLEC promotes the optimal teaching method for each student to improve their Korean conversational skills.
Moreover, the KLEC provides students with various opportunities to experience and learn about Korean culture.
All the faculty members of KLEC are experts in language education with a master’s degree or higher in humanities, sociology, or related disciplines. They enthusiastically participate in professional development activities, and keep their teaching methods current by attending conferences, seminars, and workshops.
Our friendly and experienced KLEC faculty and staff are ready to assist students in all aspects of their KLEC experience: from advice or counseling on visa and quality of life issues in Korea to course selection.
A thoroughly-organized and well-established Korean intensive course. I enjoyed how SNU focuses a lot on all aspects of language, particularly forcing you to speak and feel comfortable in a Korean-environment. Great staff and campus too. Highly recommended.
