O! World Zoo Land opened to the public on May 1st 2009. Home to 600 animals from 130 different species like Bengal Tigers, American Black Bears, and Lions, Zoo Land is a fantastic place to not only look at animals but also to be captivated by their animalistic ways of life which you can explore at their Drive-Thru Safari.

O! World does not only have a zoo but also Flower Land with a maze and hundreds of diverse, exotic flowers and plants, and Joy Land amusement park with fun rides and all year sledding. O!World even provides a Bird Land where diverse species of birds can be found in a botanical garden.

Jeonju Zoo is home to tigers, giraffes, and hippos, among many other types of animal species. Open the public since 1978, Jeonju Zoo includes an aquarium and an amusement park called DreamLand.

For those on a tight budget, Jeonju Zoo is the perfect option for a day outing, as ticket prices are 1,300won for adults, 600won for teens, and 400won for children.

Samjung The Park is home to more than 1,200 different animals and is divided into two sections. The “Walking Safari” where you go for a walk and see the larger animals kept in the bigger habitats. The other is the “Sky-Ranch” where they have smaller animals ranging from farm animals to wild reptiles to diverse types of birds.

 

The grounds are smaller than what you may experience at bigger locations, but the environment is well laid out and perfect for families with young children.

Seoul Grand Zoo is the biggest zoo in South Korea. Open to the public since 1984, Seoul Grand Zoo is a part of Seoul Grand Park and includes an amusement park, a museum of modern art, a rose garden, and a separate children’s zoo.

Home to lions, rhinos, tigers, flamingos, meerkats, parrots, and many other species, the zoo’s large open spaces aim to give animals as much room and freedom as possible.

Aqua Planet 63 is a small aquarium located in the heart of Seoul. Aqua Planet aims to demonstrate a variety of marine ecosystems not seen in everyday life, teach the value of marine culture and suggest “ecosystem preservation”.

Colorful fish, adorable otters, waddling penguins and dancing seals are some of the majestic marine animals that can be seen in this wonder-filled small aquarium.

Aqua Planet Jeju has 3 whole floors dedicated to its aquarium. Not only do they have one big aquarium. They have multiple with various different themes. Their goal is to “publicize the proposition of ‘preservation of ecosystem’ and to spread the ‘values of marine culture’ by showing the public diverse facets of the marine ecosystem that are not readily accessible in everyday life”.

  • Ocean Arena: Shows its stars dolphins, sea lions, and seals perform daily with some synchronized swimmers
  • Traditional Jeju: Haenyeo women showcase their skills in the main tank
  • Marine Science: Interesting and educational facts are exhibited for children and adults to further their knowledge
  • Ecology lessons: Get to know some of the animals ecology facts in fun feeding time presentations

Aqua Planet Yeosu is an aquarium. Their aim is to show the public the importance of preserving the marine ecosystem and to showcase the importance of it to us. They offer the typical aquarium experience as well as an Alive Museum and a 4D Theater. You can visit the different exhibits separately or just purchase the packages and enjoy all of the different aquatic experiences. They have all sorts of marine animals like Beluga whales, different types of seals from around the world. They even divided some of the exhibits into Aqua Forest, Ocean Life, and Marine Life where they have various types of tanks with the different animals.

  • Meal times: Mealtimes don’t just show us the simple feedings of the animals but they have the keepers talking and giving some educational information about the animals being fed
  • Aqua Show: Enjoy an aquatic performance in the main tank

Aqua Planet Ilsan is an aquarium and a zoo alike. It’s a large building complex with 3 floors where an aquarium exhibit and a jungle exhibit take place together. Their large variety of animals include Lemurs, Sharks, Penguins, Otters and a Jaguar. Like some other aquariums, you are able to touch some of the animals on display.

  • Aquatic Show: Be mesmerized by the synchronized swimmers and on-screen media
  • Feeding time: Witness the feeding of the underwater animals in the main tank
  • Storytime: Listen to the stories of the fascinating animals that reside in Aqua Planet Ilsan
