The Jinju Namgang Yudeung Festival (Jinju Nam River Lantern Festival) is an annual two-week light and lantern event in Jinju, located in the South Gyeongsang Province of South Korea.
Each year the festival hosts a variety of events, and in the past has held street parades, water fireworks, light displays, temporary bridge walks, dramatic historical reenactments and much more. Festival guests also are welcome to create wishing lanterns, as well as send their own floating lanterns onto the lake.
The festival is located at Jinju’s Namgang River, and expands out to surrounding areas, featuring lantern stalls and food vendors for the visitors. Although the festival is typically held in Autumn, it is best to check the website for differing dates each year.
