Jongmyo Shrine

Jongmyo Shrine is a Confucian shrine dedicated to the forefathers of the Joseon Dynasty (1392 – 1910). Located in Jongno-gu, the Jongmyo Shrine houses tablets that bear the teachings of members of the former royal family. The tablets are enshrined in two halls: the Main Hall (Jeongjeon) and the Hall of Eternal Peace (Yeongnyeongjeon). On weekdays, visitors are only allowed entry through guided tours during specific times. On Saturdays, visitors are free to visit the premises at their leisure.

How to get there

You can get there by subway getting off at Line 1,3,5 Jongno 3(sam)-ga Station exits 8 and 11. It would take around 5 mins of walking.
