What better way to celebrate the start of summer than with a glass of wine and tapas?
June 15th is World Tapas Day (Día de la Tapa), a day to celebrate tapas: a collection of small Spanish finger dishes commonly served with a glass of wine or beer. This year, The Spanish Chamber of Commerce in Korea presents La Ruta de la Tapa ( Tapas Tour / 타파스 미식여행) to celebrate the day in Korea.
Until June 14, stop by any one of the participating Spanish restaurants in Korea to enjoy a tapa and a glass of sangria or beer for only 9,000 KRW (complete list of participating restaurants below). Since tapas come in small portions, you can enjoy a variety of different dishes like fried shrimp, breads with seasoned meats, skewers of olive, and more.
On Día de la Tapa, June 15, chefs at participating restaurants will have the chance to partake in the Seoul Tapa Contest to compete over who has the best tapa in town. The winning restaurant will receive Best Restaurant Award by Spanish Ambassador Gonzalo Ortiz.
Customers who visit two or more of the restaurants noted below also have the chance to win 2 flight tickets to Spain, courtesy of British Airways! All you have to do is visit 2 participating Spanish restaurants and upload 2 photos on Instagram with #TapaSeoul and @escck_spain in your caption.
