Conan O’Brien and Steven Yeun Head to a Jjimjilbang in K-Town and Hilarity Ensues
Anyone who has ever been to a jjimjilbang (찜질방) knows it can be a rather awkward experience. Take that awkward experience and add a Korean-American zombie warrior (Steven Yeun) and one of the funniest guys in late night TV (Conan O’Brien) and you’ve got a recipe for hilarity that will have you laughing out loud.
From Conan’s porn music to him getting his chest checked out by a Korean ajusshi, it’s a pure clash of culture fun. The cold tub scene is classic, but the topper has to be when Conan goes for his exfoliation, or ddaemili (때밀이). Anyone who has done this before knows they take a little more skin off than is actually healthy, but Conan takes it well. Or not.
From the spa they head over to the jjimjilbang and have a nice chat with a nice ajuma who fears Conan but loves Ray Romano. The classic Korean song they came up with for the show will be fun for Korean speakers in particular. Gotta love it. Go Conan!
